The reinsurance Finance function in India primarily supports the quarterly closing and reporting process of the Reinsurance Business. There are different sub-processes performed by the Reinsurance Financial Reporting team in India which include but are not limited to the quarter-end Close Process, Reporting Process, Reconciliation Process, Business Analysis Process, etc. This position will be supporting the Statutory Reporting activities for XL Reinsurance America business.

What will your essential responsibilities include?
  • Responsible for Reinsurance Financial Reporting activities which will include Statutory Reporting activities for the Reinsurance business.
  • Responsible for the preparation of various reconciliations which include GAAP vs IFRS17 and IFRS 17 vs. IFRS17 Local STAT Adj.
  • Responsible for the in-depth analysis of OPEX based on Legal Entity on a quarterly basis.
  • Preparation of STAT IS and BS commentary on a quarterly basis.
  • Support the management team on a regular basis for any ad-hoc request.
  • Preparation of Schedule T, Schedule P and Schedule F (including CDCA) on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Preparation and posting of various GAAP to Stat Adjustments journals.
  • Detailed analysis of numbers, analyzing trends and reporting the same to management.
  • Maintain effective communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Reinsurance Financial Reporting.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Statutory Reporting or Regulatory Reporting skills: CA with relevant years of experience in Statutory Reporting or Regulatory Reporting for NAIC.
  • Excellent Accounting knowledge.
  • Good Analytical and reconciliation skills.
  • Good exposure to working on Excel and Presentations. Knowledge of VBA is an added advantage.
  • Communication skills: effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • MS Office skills: Should have excellent MS Excel skills.
  • Able to work and communicate effectively as part of a cross-geographic and cross-cultural team.
  • Good team player and ability to work resiliently.
