About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Accounting Specialist who is willing to get into the details and understand Highspot's reconciliation and month end close process. This role will focus on taking over the payroll accounting functions (reconciliations and monthly journal entries) and supporting the greater accounting team on various cross-border initiatives. This role will collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Finance and Tax Compliance, Director & Senior Manager of Accounting, and Payroll operations team. You will be responsible for daily and monthly financial accounting processes, and to assist in ensuring month end and reporting requirements of Highspot. This role will also support a variety of routine and non-routine general ledger functions with significant responsibility over the month-end close process and balance sheet review.

Responsibilities
- Lead payroll accounting activities, including payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Perform monthly payroll and non payroll related balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to payroll accruals, benefits, taxes, and employee deductions.
- Liaise with Payroll processing team to understand global monthly activities and payroll processing systems
- Perform various GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation
- Prepare Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses and ability to dive into the details to further investigate any variances
- Assist in preparing internal and external financial reporting schedules
- Evaluate process and system infrastructure, along with identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities
- Maintain and enhance the internal controls over accounting processes and systems
- Support the quarterly reviews and annual audit requests and inquiries from our external auditors
- Input and support various accounting projects and requests, as needed
Required qualification
- 2+ years of post qualification experience in accounting roles
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
- Proven history and ability to complete complex accounting reconciliations and journal entries
- Proficiency in utilizing various data systems to extract, assess, and analyze data.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in implementing best practices for financial operations
- Well versed in Excel, Powerpoint and working knowledge of ERP accounting software (Netsuite is a plus)
- Flexibility to adapt to variety of engagement types, accounting, tax, global compliance
- Understanding of Highspot's industry and sales enablement solutions is a plus
- Chartered Accountant qualification is preferred, not mandatory
