Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, inventory accounting, and variance analysis.
2. Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to senior management.
3. Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules and asset tracking.
4. Develop and manage the company's annual budget, including forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
5. Prepare and present financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
6. Conduct monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, including bank reconciliations.
7. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
8. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
9. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
10. Provide financial guidance to management, including cost analysis and profitability analysis.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Senior Cost Accountant position, you must have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is a plus.
2. At least 5 years of experience in a cost accounting or related role, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, fixed asset accounting, and financial reporting.
4. Proficiency in creating and managing budgets.
5. Excellent analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
6. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. A proactive mindset, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
