Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
2. Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings by collecting and interpreting cost data.
3. Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
4. Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
5. Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory.
6. Verify cost accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable ledgers.
7. Work with the financial management team to prepare annual budgets.
8. Analyze actual costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
9. Provide management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
10. Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.
11. Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cost accounting role in the Aerospace or Manufacturing industry.
4. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, methods, and applications.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically.
12. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
