Job Details
The Controller oversees accounting and finance functions across multiple companies within an organization. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Key Responsibilities
Manage the closing process, including the preparation of monthly financial statements.
Prepare budgets and forecasts.
Ensure accurate inventory reporting and controls, including maintaining a standard costing system.
Consolidate and integrate newly acquired companies into a single reporting entity.
Manage internal and external accounting resources.
Coordinate audit and tax reporting with external auditors.
Support staff management as needed.
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report any unsafe activities to the supervisor or Human Resources Manager.
Participate in team activities to achieve departmental and company goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
Education/Licensure/Credentials
Required: B.S. degree in accounting or a related field
Preferred: CPA certification
Experience
Required: 7-9 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience
Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing setting and multi-company environment
Special Knowledge/Skills
Required: Ability to maintain confidential information, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred: Proficiency in software such as Excel, Word, Infor Visual, Epicor
