Job Details

Job Summary
The Controller is responsible for working closely with the Operations Officer to oversee the accounting processes, assist in management of facility and IT departments. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The role requires relevant experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Solid communication, technology, and analytical skills
Prior management experience helpful
Planning and coordinating accounting operational functions
Providing direction and guidance to IT staff
Participation with upper management in the growth of business
Management of all facility location expenses
Reviewing internal and external financial statements
Coordinating activities of external auditors and advisors
Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
Assisting with the budget process
Oversight of payroll
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
Monitoring business performance metrics, including billing management process
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions.
Ensures operation of equipment by establishing preventive maintenance requirements and service contracts, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3-5 years experience in accounting
Managing processes
Financial Software
Developing standards
Tracking budget expenses
Financial skills
Experience with financial reporting requirements
Medical industry experience a plus
Performance Standards
This position oversees the Accounting, Facilities, and IT Departments and reports directly to the Operations Officer.
