Job Details

Develop and enforce policies, procedures, and internal controls to manage various financial functions including accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, cash management, and grant and contract billing, adhering to industry standards.
Identify and evaluate financial risks, devise strategies to mitigate them, and implement controls to protect organizational assets.
Supervise the annual audit process to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including month-end and year-end close processes, in alignment with accounting standards.
Generate financial statements, forecasts, analyses, and ad-hoc reports to aid decision-making by operational leaders.
Oversee billing, reporting, and reconciliations for grants and contracts.
Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term financial plans.
Provide support to senior financial leadership when necessary.
Offer strategic guidance to senior management on financial matters, analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Mentor and lead the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
CPA license preferred.
At least 8 years of leadership experience in finance or administration, with a track record of effectively managing teams.
Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic planning and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
Minimum 5 years of experience handling large volumes of grants and contracts.
Strong knowledge of healthcare billing, particularly Medicaid.
Familiarity with alternative payment models in healthcare, including prospective payment systems.
Proficiency in financial statement preparation, analysis, and communication.
Advanced Excel skills and a willingness to leverage technology for problem-solving.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Thorough understanding of GAAP and its application to internal accounting practices, including payroll, audit, and tax requirements for non-profits.
Experience with non-profit auditing standards.
Demonstrated adaptability to change and a proactive approach to innovation.
Ability to take ownership of problems, brainstorm solutions, and follow through with sound judgment.
