The Assistant Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting team and leading the Bank's efforts to ensure financial statements are completed timely and accurately in order to support senior management decision making. Assists in the preparation and review of internal and external financial and regulatory reporting. Position Purpose:

- We value visibility and collaboration; days in-office would be coordinated with team collaboration days each week.
Key Accountabilities, Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Serve as a leader by providing daily support, coaching, and development opportunities for the Financial Operations team.
- Manage, facilitate, and review internal and external financial and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure all duties and tasks performed by accounting staff are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Provide research, analysis, and enhanced support to all lines of business.
- Attend and participate in committee meetings, contributing financial expertise and data.
- Act as vendor relationship manager for external partners.
- Oversight of internal and external audit data collection.
- Serve as the chief representative from Financial Operations for ad hoc internal projects and budgeting, coordinating tasks and resources needed to achieve project scope.
- Performs monthly closing duties and reconciliation review.
- All other duties as assigned and any activities that support the key accountabilities.
Requirements:
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Five to seven years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance. CPA designation preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards, laws and regulations related to the job.
- Strong knowledge of and understanding of bank operations.
- Leasing accounting experience preferred.
- Solid Computer literacy (Microsoft Office) with accurate data entry skills; proficient knowledge of working with spreadsheet and creating formulas. Ability to become proficient in use of specific software required for position.
- A high level of initiative, thoroughness, accuracy and organizational skills required.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- High level of confidentiality required.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Work involves eye strain due to the constant use of computer screens, reading of reports, working with spreadsheets and so forth.
- Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions.
- Work involves ability to communicate professional both in person and via telephone; hear, see, accurately manipulate figures, and sit for long periods at a time.
- Work involves lifting and moving loan files of up to 15 lbs.
- Work involves some travel to attend meetings, training, and so forth.
