We are seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to join our dynamic team in the energy industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and manage all aspects of our financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial analysis, external reporting, and SOX compliance. CPA certification is required.

Job Details


As a Corporate Controller, you will be expected to:

1. Oversee all financial operations of the company, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
2. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.
3. Coordinate and manage the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
4. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and annual reports.
5. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance.
6. Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and applicable local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
7. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
8. Evaluate and manage risk, perform internal audits, and liaise with external auditors.
9. Supervise a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
10. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.


The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
2. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably in the engineering industry.
4. Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Proven experience with external reporting, financial analysis, and SOX compliance.
6. Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
7. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
9. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
