We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team. This position will play a key role in managing and improving our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, forecasting, financial reporting and oversight over general accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
  • Coordinating all audit activity.
  • Consistently analyzing financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organization's financial status.
  • Assisting the organization's leadership in the annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Managing organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the program vice presidents; continuously collaborate with program vice presidents to assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
  • Managing and tracking the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.

The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
  • Minimum 3+ years of accounting, finance experience in a leadership role
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
  • Deep understanding of business principles and practices
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Working experience with month-end close, general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliations, Construction accounting, Financial Statement preparation and review, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
