Structured hybrid role:

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.


The successful candidate will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of supporting the Barclays Controls Officer(s) and P&ST Leaders to sustain and strengthen the Control Environment within the FTC. The role is to work closely with the P&ST FTC Centres of Excellences, as well as SMEs to not only deliver the control and audit assessments, but to enhance current processes, and provide transparency into the Bank's control environment

What will you be doing?

Responsible for monitoring & Reporting of Stress Testing & Impairment team performance against applicable Barclays Policies & standards.

Responsible for:
  • Preparing & conducting monthly controls meeting.
  • Monthly EUDA monitoring & governance.
  • Subject matter expert advice relating to Control issues & Risk events.
  • Support in monitoring and closure of issues & risks identified.
  • Participate in all centrally managed governance processes like RCSA etc.
  • Faceoff to all three lines of defence including auditors.
  • Any ad-hoc support as required from time to time.

What we're looking for:
  • Formal Accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Control experience in major business area or function. Ability to understand, implement and drive improvements to a risk & control framework
  • Understand and manage Risk, Compliance, Governance, Control & Regulatory practices.
  • Experienced in dealing with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives e.g. Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Legal.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present credibly to senior stakeholders

Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Experience of Capital Risk, Conduct Risk, Reputation Risk, Data Risk and/or Change Management.
  • Experience of working within a regulatory and control environment.
  • Experience of working within the financial services industry
  • Good understanding and experience of regulatory capital and stress testing requirements
