Our next Controller will be responsible for managing our finance and accounting department. This includes all accounting operations. You will also act as a backup to Accounting Manager when needed. You will be responsible for supervising direct reports daily.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervisor to the Accounting team
  • Manage and review our team's progress and performance
  • Manage all accounting operations, AR, AP, and payroll using Foundation Accounting Software
  • Administrator TravelBank
  • Create transparency and efficiency within the financial department
  • Oversee, review, and present flash reports, P&L, and cash forecast
  • Ad hoc financial reports as needed.
  • Work with our Estimating department in tracking real-time job cost
  • Evaluate project profitability/margin analysis
  • Complete monthly reconciliations and month-end process
  • Federal, state, and local reporting
  • Prepare quarterly and annual statements
  • Work closely with management and operations to improve and process and cost accounting reports
  • Work with our outside CPA firm with the preparation of all local and federal tax filings and reporting requirements
  • Manage cash/cash analysis, prepare cash flow statements, ensure adequate control/management of all cash-related functions
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems by GAAP
  • Strong safeguards and internal controls to mitigate risks
  • Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Monitor changes and progress
  • Update Owners of our financial status
  • Work with Owners with asset evaluation, R&D tracking, and strategic financial planning
  • Support ISO 9001 and its improvements
  • Participate in risk assessments, corrective actions, and internal audits

Required Education, Knowledge, and Skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Finance or Accounting
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team or direct reports in Accounting or Finance
  • Previous experience successfully managing direct reports
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial reporting and accounting principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning and execution

Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • 2+ years of experience with Foundation Accounting Software
  • Construction accounting experience
  • Industrial construction services industry experience
  • Multi-State Union operations experience
