Job Description:

As the Senior Director of Finance at Cuemath, you will be responsible for overseeing critical financial functions and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and reporting requirements. Your role will involve managing a team and implementing efficient financial processes leveraging technology and automation.

Qualifications:
  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with preference for first attempt passes
  • 8-9 years of experience in controllership, audit, and financial reporting
  • Experience in startup and tech industries with exposure to automation


Role &Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly closing schedules and financial statements in accordance with IndAS (Indian Accounting Standards).
  • Consolidate financial statements for audits across India and global subsidiaries.
  • Conduct monthly general ledger (GL) reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors (statutory, internal, IFC) during audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support due diligence requirements for various stakeholders.
  • Generate management information system (MIS) reports tailored to management needs.
  • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for financial processes.
  • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and GL processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Manage fixed assets accounting and depreciation calculations.
  • Ensure compliance with IndAS/IFRS and implement any necessary changes.
  • Perform variance analysis between MIS reports and financial books.
  • Reconcile MIS data with the general ledger for accuracy.
  • Experience in SAP/Oracle/ERP systems to manage financial operations effectively.
  • Implement new accounting systems and processes to streamline financial reporting and enable automation.
  • Control and maintain master data of the general ledger, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in their roles.


Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, IndAS/IFRS, and audit practices.
  • Proven experience in managing financial operations in startup or tech environments.
  • Proficiency in financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or other ERP software.
  • Ability to lead and implement process improvements, especially in automation.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities to mentor and develop a high-performing finance team.
