Job Summary

This role is responsible for providing concise financial reporting and commentary. The Senior Financial Analyst applies analytical rigor to financial data, prepares meaningful analysis, generates financial dashboards, and makes recommendations to improve profitability. The role requires presentation of information in a concise, relevant format to senior management to enable their decision making. This role has ability to produce high quality work within tight timeframes and is comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role understands various financial matrix and applicable KPIs such as budgeting, forecasting, operating expenses, variance analysis, P&L, balance sheet components, etc.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

Review and Evaluate - Analyze elements of financial performance based on information obtained via SQL, Essbase, MicroStrategy, etc., and publish reporting/findings as needed. Analyze key performance indicators and compare actual performance to expected performance. Complete ad-hoc assignments as needed, including interdepartmental collaboration, material creation and presenting findings. Understand basic drivers of key performance indicators and show demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to various financial forecasts and models. Utilize knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams to execute daily work. Analyze and report on actuals and variances with appropriate commentary.

Reporting - Support and maintain key reports used to analyze credit portfolios and revenue/expense trends. Participate in developing and providing key financial reporting for the team and internal partners. Demonstrate attention to detail and quality of information. Leverage data sources such as Essbase, SQL, and MicroStrategy to build and maintain reports.

Create and Design - Support process based on key performance indicator trends, participate in internal client discussions, and participate in the identification of objectives and success metrics. Maintain organization in order to multitask and prioritize projects while adhering to deadlines. Create client performance reports, review client P&L's, review monthly forecasting and budgeting, and review and analyze marketing campaigns. Review key performance indicators and drive recommendations to improve profitability, as needed. Work with some supervision to help identify and solve problems.

Team Support - Support team during crisis and act as back up for various deliverables.

Stakeholder Management - Work closely within the department and work cross-functionally to produce reports in a timely, high-quality, and insightful manner. Work cross-functionally and collaborate to gain knowledge and insights of volume related activities. Maintain communication with business partners to stay in front of activities with a forecast impact. Build effective relationships within the team and with all levels of the organization.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements


  • Hybrid role, work in corporate office as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or related field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, business finance and building financial models.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, commerce, or related field of study.
  • 8+ years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, business finance, and/or building financial models.
  • Chartered Accountant certification.
  • Experience with Essbase and/or Power BI/SQL/Alteryx.
