Responsibilities

Director FAS (Finance Application Support) COE managing
  • Application support for Oracle, IRIS, Datawatch, Blue Prism including
  • User Enablement including Access management, Issue management etc
  • Application Configuration covering all meta data configurations and set up including for strategic projects and product launches/enhancements impacting American Express Financials, automated job monitoring and optimization, release management
  • Application Processing including results consolidations and allocations to create business segment results
  • Close Governance including the late entry protocols, top sides and stakeholder communications
  • Insight Enablement leveraging BI applications like OAS, Essbase/SmartView etc
  • Manage American Express Month / Quarter Close process both from an Oracle and Governance perspective.
  • Partner with AET and Product Owners on critical interventions related to above mentioned applications e.g. Upgrades, Fast Forward, Fusion, Disaster Recovery Testing, Platform modernization in terms of integration with Oracle etc.
  • Leadership to a Team of 60+ Colleagues with Fin Tech skill sets across Gurgaon and Bangalore

Required Skills
  • CA / CPA / MBA with a minimum of 10 year's experience.
  • Understanding of American Express business, financial accounting, reporting and results consolidation process.
  • Fin Tech skills with an understanding / aptitude for Technology architecture and Data flows in Accounting, Reconciliation, Automation, Reporting.
  • Project Management skills to lead GFO projects and contribute to Enterprise projects.
  • Understanding / Prior experience as a Product owner.
  • Understanding of Operational Risk, Control Mindset from both process and technology perspective.
  • Enterprise mindset with strong ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholders including Finance, AET etc.
  • Bring external perspective to understand / adopt evolving technology and best practices e.g. Cloud
  • Demonstrate courage that leadership demands in saying "No" when appropriate.
  • Strong people leader, self motivator, driven and enthusiastic with prior experience of leading large teams.
