Our company is on the lookout for a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Controller. This role is integral to our financial operations and requires a professional with a strong background in accounting and finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, tax, business planning, and strategic planning. This position also includes responsibilities related to accounts payable and receivable, billing, and commission calculations. The Assistant Controller will also be expected to support IT issues and have experience with Northstar Club Software Plus, hospitality software, and Microsoft Excel.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support the Controller in all aspects of budgeting, including the development, implementation, and monitoring of the budget.
  • Manage payroll functions and calculate commissions.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with business planning and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and manage billing activities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of process improvements and internal controls.
  • Assist in the formulation of business strategy and provide leadership in its execution.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports.
  • Provide managerial finance support and resolve IT-related issues.
  • Utilize Northstar Club Software Plus and hospitality software to streamline financial operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Northstar Club Software Plus and hospitality software.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and payroll.
  • Experience in calculating commissions and managing tax compliance.
  • Proven experience in business and strategic planning.
  • Proficient in managing accounts payable and receivable, and billing.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in process improvement and internal controls.
  • Ability to formulate and implement business strategy.
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements.
  • Managerial finance skills and the ability to support IT issues.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
