Cost Accounting Intern

The Cost Accounting Intern will work alongside managers in various departments, primarily focusing on cost analysis and accounting tasks. The intern will be responsible for gathering and analysing financial data, assisting in cost control, and providing support to different departments as needed. The goal is to provide exposure to cost accounting practices and groom the intern for potential permanent employment within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities:• Gather and analyse cost data for various projects and operations within the company.• Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for projects and departments.• Analyse variances between actual costs and budgeted/planned costs and provide explanations.• Support in maintaining and updating cost accounting records and reports.• Collaborate with other departments to understand cost drivers and provide insights for cost-saving opportunities.• Assist in implementing cost control measures and process improvements.• Provide support in inventory management and valuation.• Prepare reports and presentations on cost-related matters for management review.• Learn and apply cost accounting principles and techniques under the guidance of experienced professionals.
