We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position in the exciting and fast-paced construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the financial operations of our commercial properties portfolio. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and perform CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lease agreements.
  • Manage the A/R process, including billing, collections, and reporting.
  • Utilize Yardi property management software for financial tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Manage and track property expenses, including maintenance costs, property taxes, and insurance.
  • Perform year-end close processes, including the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reconcile GL (General Ledger) accounts on a monthly basis, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly accruals and prepayments, ensuring all financial data is up to date.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual income statements, providing insights on financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the property management team to develop budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, preferably in the commercial sector.
  • Strong experience with CAM reconciliations, A/R, Yardi, journal entries, expense tracking, year-end close, GL reconciliations, accruals, and income statement preparation.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software, preferably Yardi.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal accounting and financial regulations.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
