Job Details

  • Manage all aspects of the accounting operations including cash flow, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including payroll taxes, income tax, and other necessary reports.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual audit and liaise with the external auditors as necessary.
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions.
  • Manage the cash flow and prepare cash flow forecasts in accordance with policy.
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation.
  • Assist the CEO and the executive team in the annual budgeting and planning process.
  • Administer and review all financial plans and compare to actual results with a view to identify, explain, and correct variances as appropriate.
  • Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership team abreast of the organization's financial status.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required; an MBA or CPA is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior financial managerial position, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll system is a plus.
  • Experience in the legal industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and results.
