is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager for our client in Bloomfield, CT!

Pay Rate - $44.50/hr
40 hours per week, overtime available during the month end
Job Description
Gather and analyze financial information; will typically conduct quantitative analyses of information affecting investment programs of public or private institutions
Responsibilities include analyzing and communicating financial information for clients
Education/Experience
o Bachelors degree in accounting or related financial discipline required
An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred
o Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification required.
o 8-10 years accounting manager/plant controller experience in manufacturing industry.
Responsibility level
o Exercises independent judgment with little to no direction from supervisor
Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently and manage one?s time (Required)
o Strong ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses (Typically required)
o Strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data (Typically required)
o Strong knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting (Required)
o Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software (Required)
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Direct the preparation of financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, and analyses of future earnings or expenses, that summarize and forecast the organization's financial position
o Prepare special reports required by regulatory authorities
o Direct the organization's budgets to meet its financial goals
o Oversee the investment of funds, manage associated risks, supervise cash management activities
o Execute capital-raising strategies to support a firm?s expansion
o Oversee the firm's issuance of credit, establishing credit-rating criteria, determining credit ceilings, and monitoring the collections of past-due accounts
Top 3 to 5 'Must Have' skills and experiences:
• Significant experience required in Manufacturing Plant and Complex Accounting experience, including supervisory experience to manage a team of accountants and/or a complex process that interacts with multiple individuals outside of the department
Knowledge and experience of Finance systems and tools - Oracle, Bolt, JDE, Planful, HFM would be great.
• Performing and/or overseeing highly specialized accounting work required to maintain the company's general ledger, resolving complex accounting issues resulting from routine and non-routine accounting transactions.
• Reviews general ledger entries, account reconciliations, internal and external reports, schedules and statements.
• Reviews existing internal controls on a regular basis and develops new internal controls as necessary and Implements new accounting standards.
• Makes and implements recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
(Important)
• Experience with JD Edwards and Planful is a plus!
