Creative Financial Staffing is working with a non profit in Hartford who has a need for an Assistant Controller. This is a semi-immediate need, and they are looking to hire by Monday 5/27.

About the Opportunity:
  • The Assistant Controller will receive 30 days PTO and 10 holidays per year

  • The Assistant Controller will report to the CFO
  • 37.5 hours (Work anytime between 8-5 PM)
  • Corporate environment (Jeans are acceptable on Fridays)
Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller:
  • Close the books on a monthly basis
  • Create reports for ME close for the board to review
  • Direct preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts to adhere to ME close process
  • Grant Management: Monitor allocation of funds (Can train on this)
  • The Assistant Controller will have oversite of several departments
    • The Finance Manager will report to you, as the Assistant Controller
    • The accounting team consists also of Staff Accountant, Payroll Specialist and 2 property accountants
Preferred Qualifications for the Assistant Controller:
  • Non profit experience is highly preferred
  • Abiliea software is the system our client uses - Exposure to this software is a benefit
  • Ability to work independently
