I am working with an organization in Baltimore, MD on their CFO position. This position is in-office five days a week with no remote work potential. This organization has a wonderful mission, where they shared their people always go home with a sense of fulfillment and a feeling of having contributed to the community. They are hoping to find a strategic thinker and someone innovative for the team. They are hoping to find someone with strong leadership skills and the vision necessary to help ensure the organization has proper operation controls, reporting procedures, people and systems in place to help grow the organization and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. This CFO will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and evaluating the overall corporate strategy with the leaders of the departments. This CFO will be responsible for the organization's financial planning and accounting practices and its relationship with other institutions, board members, and the financial community.

Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for day-to-day leadership, management and guidance to reflect the mission of the organization.
  • Manage different departments, with a team of both direct and indirect reports.
  • Development of internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial budgeting and reporting.
  • Assist with the treasury function including safekeeping and preservation of all company assets, including but not limited to cash accounts, investment accounts, supply inventory, fixed assets, intangible assets, and contract commitments.
  • Manage the financial reporting process including monthly and annual financial statements, annual audited financial statements, special third-party financial reports, etc.).
  • Handle statistical reporting, tax and other financial reporting.
  • Responsible for financial analysis, financial decision support, transaction processing including G/L, billing, collections, payroll, A/P, etc.
  • Provide management of information technology by ensuring all IT and related functions comply with stated objectives and regulatory requirements, supported by the Director of IT.
  • Manage facilities and fleet to ensure all buildings and vehicles are maintained in good condition and according to safety standards, supported by the Facilities and Fleet Manager.
  • Involved with the development and/or revision of the organizational strategic planning initiatives.
  • Oversight and management of HR programs, policies, procedures, and compensation administration, supported by the Director of HR.
  • Help to achieve and surpass profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives.
  • Drive internal and external processes and key performance indicators for their measurement and effectiveness.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on the organization condition.
  • Develop and spearhead effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Lead the direction of short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support the strategic business goals.

Qualifications include:
  • CPA or Masters in Accounting
  • Nonprofit industry experience
  • 10+ years of experience including current/recent CFO/VP level experience
  • Strong management background
