The Controller will be responsible for managing a mid-sized accounting team, and overseeing all of our day-to-day accounting operations including cost accounting, financial reporting, general ledger, AP, AR, etc. The Controller should have 3+ years in a similar role, ideally within the Manufacturing industry.

Job Details

Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
  • Conducting month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform cost accounting functions and improve processes for inventory control.
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
  • Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual report and budget.
  • Providing financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
  • Leading the budgeting and financial forecasting processes, including variance analysis.
  • Developing and managing effective inventory control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Evaluating and managing risk, implementing effective internal controls.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar role within the engineering or manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with month-end close, budget analysis, variance analysis, and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems.
