Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting standards, bond compliance, and process optimization. You will be instrumental in managing our general ledger, ensuring timely month-end closures, and leading our efforts to streamline financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the general ledger, including journal entries, ledger accounts, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant FASB accounting standards and bond-related regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance financial procedures and reporting efficiency.
  • Coordinate and prepare for annual audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and compliant audit process.
  • Provide financial analysis and reports to senior management, assisting in strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of FASB standards and bond compliance.
  • Proven experience in managing a comprehensive general ledger and leading month-end close processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and expertise in financial reporting and process optimization.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of managing teams and working collaboratively across departments.
  • Proficiency in major accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
