Job Details:
We are seeking a seasoned Permanent Controller with a strong background in the healthcare industry to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the financial management of our organization, providing leadership, direction, and coordination of company financial planning, Federal grant administration, and program budget management functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, finance, and business principles, combined with a deep understanding of the healthcare industry.

Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, you will be responsible for:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Managing and supervising all aspects of accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
3. Ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
4. Preparing and presenting financial reports, statements, and projections to the executive management team.
5. Coordinating and leading annual audit processes, liaising with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors.
6. Overseeing all financial, project/program, and grants accounting; ensuring that expenditures are consistently aligned with grant and program budgets throughout the grant/fund period.
7. Managing organizational cash flow and forecasting, and developing a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism.
8. Implementing a robust contracts management and financial management/reporting system; ensuring that the contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and that financial data and cash flow are steady and support operational requirements.
9. Enhancing and implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
10. Providing leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; creating and promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller role should possess:

1. A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A CPA is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
3. Extensive knowledge and experience in healthcare and behavioral health.
4. Proven experience in medical billing, grant preparation, and grant administration.
5. A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
6. Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
7. Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office.
8. High proficiency in financial management and financial analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
9. Strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with professionals at all levels.
10. The ability to strategize and solve problems.
11. Strong communication and presentation skills.
12. An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers.
13. Experience with federal grant administration and audit and tax procedures.
14. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel - manages spreadsheets, pivot tables, format charts, etc.
