Position Title: Assistant Controller

Position Overview:
  • We are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will work closely with the Controller to oversee the company's financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Reporting directly to the Controller, you will play a key role in financial reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Controller Role:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support external audits and regulatory compliance efforts, ensuring timely and accurate responses to audit inquiries.

Preferred Skills and Experience for the Assistant Controller Role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
