Essential Functions-Assistant Controller:
  • Manage month end close process and financial reporting package preparation, including balance sheet, statement of activities, cash flows and indirect cost allocations
  • Oversee and coordinate the annual audit. Report findings and audit adjustments to the Controller and CFO at weekly meetings during audit.
  • Identify and resolve accounting theory and financial statement issues.
  • Manage accounting staff and deliver reviews, hire and terminate, as appropriate.
  • Train staff on all aspects of Dynamics Great Plains usage throughout the state of Illinois.
  • Gather data and report on specific items when requested by management or audit.
  • Significant audit work paper management, preparation and guidance.
  • Analyze financial statements for errors and explain significant variances.
  • Manage key GL processes: Balance Sheet reconciliations, new/closed networks, locations, programs, account set up, etc.
  • Performs other related tasks as needed.

Position Qualifications-Assistant Controller
  • Bachelor Accounting Degree required.
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience supervising or managing a team.
  • Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
