This role will be part of the GL Accounting team of the India Finance Team and is central to key accounting activities of the company. The incumbent will be responsible for activities for monthly closing, payroll accounting, review of trial balance and related schedules, variance analysis and related reporting to group companies, general accounting as per various GAAP standards, support various audit, assessments and GST returns. The incumbent will play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement to the local accounting processes to gain efficiencies.

Education
  • CA with 1-3 years of post-qualification relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in desktop applications and Oracle or SAP financial systems
  • Must have worked extensively on Windows OS and has very good hands on experience in MS Excel and MSWord

Experience and personality
  • Should have rich experience of working in an MNC environment, especially in the core areas of work described above.
  • Should have the personality and drive to be able to interact across functions and levels to be able to carry out his/her job responsibilities.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal are important. More than that ability to articulate his/her point across to the other person effectively and efficiently.
  • Monthly Closing - Responsible for smooth and timely month closing activities of company. Co-ordinate with various users for collecting the required schedules and information for monthly closing. Preparation of monthly variance analysis of trial balance and ensure all schedules are prepared and reviewed correctly. Review P&L expenses and check for the correctness.
  • General accounting - Ensure that accounting is in compliance with Ind AS for India stat entity, US GAAP for group reporting and as per management reporting for CS statement. Ensure that the database maintained is as per requirement of local laws, audit requirements and recent amendments.
  • Audit - Responsible for providing required schedules during statutory and tax audit. Will also be responsible for preparation of notes to accounts. Co-ordinate with various users for collecting the required schedules and information for Audit. Prepare variance analysis for profit and loss and balance sheet schedules. Also will be responsible for maintaining the IFC control evidences.
  • Payroll Accounting - Responsible for overall payroll accounting, expat accounting and preparation of various schedules for payroll. FEMA compliances for expat invoices. Payroll related GST invoicing. Preparing year end schedules and data for audit. Support regional and global projects and answer queries for related to payroll cost.
  • Support various tax audits, assessments and return - Responsible for preparing and providing data for tax audit, TP audit, regular assessments, tax surveys, GST annual return, monthly tax and GST returns.
  • Other Responsibilities - Work on operational effectiveness which includes identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of the function. Ensure that local practices comply with BCG policies and local requirements. Enhance internal controls, continuously seeking to reengineer local business process to obtain efficiencies and reduce costs. Play a proactive role in identifying and addressing areas for improvement to the local accounting processes to gain efficiencies, which is inclusive of but not limited to assisting with local development and implementation of financial applications.
