Job Details:
As a Permanent Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will play a pivotal role in the financial management of our well-established nonprofit. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to step into a leadership role, contributing to the strategic direction of the company. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Your expertise will be crucial in managing our company's finances, including financial planning, management of financial risks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a financial strategy for the company in line with our overall business goals.
  • Oversee all financial operations including budget management, financial reporting, general ledger, tax, and audit to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/Board and members of the executive management team.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions.
  • Manage and monitor all open financial issues relating to audits, and financial reporting.
  • Review and approve all formal finance-related procedures and implement operational best practices.
  • Oversee the company's transaction processing systems and design and coordinate a wide variety of accounting and statistical data and reports.
  • Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven track record.
  • Strong understanding of financial strategy, budget management, financial reporting and compliance, general ledger, tax, and audit.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software.
