Growing Commercial and Residential Property Management firm in Silver Springs, Maryland is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team.

This role will quickly grow to take on more responsibility, so someone who has the knowledge and skills to grow is desired.

This is a fully onsite position.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in property management accounting, and MUST have experience in Yardi. Must have experience in electronic processing at least 250 invoices/week. Experience with AvidXchange or another invoice automation software a plus!

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and detail-oriented Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in Property Management and Real Estate. This role is a permanent position within our fast-paced Finance team, where you will be responsible for the full cycle of accounts payable processes, but will quickly grow to take on more tasks. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of Accounts Payable and Yardi. A minimum of 2+ years of Property Management experience is a must. 1. Manage and oversee the full cycle of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
2. Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, credit memos, and payment transactions.
3. Maintain up-to-date vendor files, including obtaining W-9 forms and handling 1099 reporting.
4. Work closely with the property management team to ensure accurate and timely payment of all property-related expenses.
5. Utilize Yardi and AvidXchange software for accounts payable processing and reporting.
6. Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing process, including account reconciliations and analysis.
7. Collaborate with the accounting team and other departments to improve processes and procedures.
8. Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
9. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.


1. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in Property Management.
2. Proficient in Accounts Payable, W-9, 1099, Yardi, and AvidXchange experience a plus!
3. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
6. Superior organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
10. Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
