Main responsibilities:
  • GST Compliance: Ensuring the organization complies with all GST regulations and requirements. This involves understanding the GST laws, rules, and procedures, and implementing systems and processes to adhere to compliance obligations.
  • Tax Planning and Advisory: Providing strategic support and guidance to the Head of Tax/HFO on GST-related matters, including identifying opportunities for tax savings, structuring transactions, and optimizing the organization's tax position within the framework of GST regulations.
  • Implementation of systems & Controls: Implementing GST-compliant systems, processes, and controls. This may involve working closely with various departments within the organization to ensure that business operations are aligned with GST requirements.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Managing the maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records related to GST, including invoices, returns, and other relevant documentation. Ensuring that all required information is properly maintained and available for review and audit purposes.
  • GST Returns and Reporting: Managing the preparation and filing of GST returns, including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9 & 9C, ITC-04 and others as applicable. Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of GST reporting, as well as compliance with record-keeping requirements.
  • Support on GST refund on export of goods and services and follow-up/support to the Circle for their queries.
  • Audits and Assessments: Assisting with GST audits and assessments by tax authorities, including responding to inquiries, gathering documentation, and ensuring compliance with audit procedures. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to address audit findings and resolve any identified issues.
  • Training and Education: Providing education and training to internal stakeholders, including finance teams, procurement departments, and other relevant personnel, on GST compliance requirements, changes in laws, and best practices. Ensuring that the organization is well-informed and prepared to meet GST compliance obligations.
  • Technology and Automation: Leveraging technology and automation tools to streamline GST compliance processes, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy in reporting and compliance. This may involve evaluating, selecting, and implementing GST-specific software or ERP modules time to time.
  • Government Liaison: Serving as a point of contact with government authorities and tax consultants regarding GST matters. Establishing and maintaining relationships with tax authorities to facilitate compliance, seek clarification on GST-related issues, and address any queries or concerns that may arise.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating GST-related risks, including potential exposures, non-compliance issues, and areas of complexity within the organization's GST processes. Working proactively to minimize risks and maintain a strong control environment.
  • Regulatory Updates and Analysis: Staying informed about changes in GST laws, regulations, and interpretations, and analyzing their potential impact on the organization. Keeping abreast of GST-related developments and advising on necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing and implementing long-term GST compliance strategies to align with the organization's business objectives, as well as advising on the potential impact of mergers, acquisitions, or expansions on GST compliance.

  • About you

    Qualifications
  • Practicing CA/CMA or Finance Postgraduate with 5+ years of experience in GST compliances, filing, audit and input tax credits.
  • Well-versed with all the regulatory compliances and would extend full support to the Head of Tax.
  • Proven written and verbal communication and ability to work with a diverse team.
  • Pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices, FMCH experience preferred.
