This opportunity is great for someone wishing to take the next step int heir career to the CFO title.

Position Overview of the CFO

The CFO is responsible for strategic and tactical aspects related to budget management, cost analysis, auditing, forecasting, and securing new funding. Oversees fiscal agent functions for the Flagler-Volusia region.

Responsibilities of the CFO:

  • The CFO will ssupervise the Finance Department, aiding finance staff with fiscal activities
  • Presents financial reports to the Board of Directors and Committees
  • Ensures accurate fiscal agent functions adherence to financial and procurement policies
  • Maintains fiscal integrity and accountability for funds per OMB circulars, WIOA, and related regulations
  • Provides data for auditors during yearly audit, with support from staff
  • Maintains grant budgets and contract modifications
  • Prepares monthly financial reports and spreadsheets for all funding sources
  • Reviews accounts payable batches for accuracy of data entry and backup documentation
  • Prepares staff payroll, allocates between funding sources, and tracks employee benefits and deductions
  • Conducts cost analysis on each contract's budget before contracting and upon renewal
  • Monitors and maintains cash balances, forecasts cash requirements, requests cash, reports disbursements, and reconciles bank accounts
  • Posts grant receipts, adjustments, and other revenue to the general ledger
  • Serves as insurance and risk management administrator, maintaining policies and coverage
  • Develops, implements, and maintains cost allocation plans and indirect cost rate agreements for CSB funding streams

Requirements of the CFO:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a closely related field
  • CPA, Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or MBA (+)
  • 7-10 years of hands-on accounting managerial and/or audit experience in nonprofit or governmental programs preferred
  • Experience in Microix, MIP, and SERA (+)
