Job Details:

We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Controller/Accounting Manager to join our dynamic manufacturing company. This is a permanent, full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing the financial health of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our financial systems, including financial reporting, budgeting, and cost accounting. You will also be expected to contribute to the development and implementation of systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information.

Responsibilities:

As a Controller/Accounting Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the operations of the accounting department, including the design and maintenance of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Managing the production of periodic financial reports; ensuring that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
3. Coordinating the preparation of the corporate annual budget and forecasts.
4. Calculating variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
5. Providing financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
6. Collaborating with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
7. Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
8. Advising staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions.
9. Responding to inquiries from the director of finance, firm-wide manager, and other finance and firm-wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
10. Working with the director of finance to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
11. Supervising the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position, you should possess the following:

1. A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in using Sage 50 and other accounting software.
4. Excellent knowledge of financial reporting, ledger management, and manufacturing accounting.
5. Demonstrated experience in managing the financials of a technology company.
6. Strong understanding of cost accounting and experience in preparing annual budgets.
7. Exceptional analytical skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.
10. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations, and a strong ability to stay updated with any changes in laws.
