Job Summary:
Join our team as a Division Controller specializing in cost accounting, where you'll hold a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of our plant(s). Your primary focus will be overseeing cost accounting processes to ensure accurate tracking, analysis, and reporting of manufacturing-related expenses. Working collaboratively across departments and divisions, you'll strive to optimize cost efficiency, facilitate decision-making, and enhance profitability. This position demands sharp analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
Cost Accounting Management:
  • Establish and maintain cost accounting systems, procedures, and controls tailored to batch processing environments for precise tracking of manufacturing costs.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of cost variances, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Contribute to the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance, pinpoint areas for improvement, and offer recommendations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align budgeting initiatives with strategic objectives.

Financial Analysis:
  • Produce and present regular financial reports and analyses related to Division costs, including variance analysis, cost trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.

Inventory Management:
  • Supervise inventory accounting procedures to ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory levels.
  • Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste, optimize turnover, and reduce carrying costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, procurement, and engineering teams to analyze product costs, identify cost drivers, and implement cost reduction strategies.
  • Partner with management to evaluate capital investment decisions and their impact on manufacturing costs.

Process Improvement:
  • Continuously assess and enhance cost accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects aimed at advancing cost management practices and fostering operational excellence.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing setting, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and cost structures.
  • Proficiency in cost accounting principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to derive meaningful insights from financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interaction with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with experience in SAP, Oracle, or D365 considered a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
  • Authorization to work in the US without requiring company sponsorship.
