Assistant Controller

CFS is partnering with a local bank located in Fairfield County.

Role & Attributes
  • Demonstrate ability to function independently in a highly complex and fast-paced environment
  • PerformReview daily trades, position, cash and P&L reconciliations between the Firm, Prime Brokers and Administrator
  • PerformReview trade, cash bookings within internal accounting systems
  • Coordinate with the Firm's Prime Brokers, Executing Brokers and Administrator to rectify and resolve trade discrepancies
  • Collaborate with counterparties to ensure timely settlement of trades
  • Assist the controller with position valuation process on a daily basis as well as during month-end net asset value calculation
  • Assist in preparation of daily, weekly and monthly internal reporting to senior management
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation, including compilation of financial statements and footnotes, recalculating and reviewing prepared tax documents, and ensuring all aspects are completed within preset timelines
  • Assist in review of month-end external performance reporting & net asset value calculations
  • Monthly fund closings including partner income allocations, fee calculations, portfolio reconciliations, dividend reconciliations and interaction with outside administrator to reconcile books.
  • Work with internal investor relations and compliance groups processing various investor activity and ad-hoc requests
  • Work closely with all groups of our firm, including our trading desk, finance and compliance teams
  • Collaborate with other Firm team members in developing new firm initiatives to optimize efficiency and grow the business

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA preferred
  • 2-6+ years of public/private experience
  • Team player, Self-starter, collaborator, driven, eager to learn, ability to thrive in a dynamic and demanding environment
