Our Bryan / College Station area client who is a leading banking and financial Institution is seeking a skilled Financial Reporting Supervisor / Controller to join their team. Coordinates with the Controller to develop and maintain reliable financial reporting information on income, expenses, assets, liabilities and capital; coordinates and assists in maintaining account balances in the accounting system that properly reflects the financial position of the bank. Manages the monthly reporting requirements Board and ERM packages and perform variance analysis on monthly financial results. Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations and oversee the responsibilities of the senior accountant, accountant, and accounting clerical support as it pertains to the financial reporting function. Responsible for managing and reporting on the monthly operations of the accounting department.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual business unit and consolidated financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Establish and communicate financial reporting procedures, schedules, and deadlines to all appropriate staff
  • Prepare various reports related to bank and departmental needs and collaborates with various departments to achieve business results.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
  • Prepare detailed internal financial reports including researching and explaining significant variances by working closely with various departments and management
  • Provide assistance to the Corporate Controller and C-Suite personnel on key accounting tasks
  • Assists with monthly and quarter-end corporate consolidation and reporting on bank holding company and banking subsidiary, including balancing and adjustment of eliminating entries.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reports, tables, exhibits as requested
  • Assess the needs of the business, prioritize projects, and drive new reporting requirements to completion
  • Prepare board reporting package
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Report any inconsistencies or improprieties
  • Resolve inquiries which includes providing technical advice
  • Improve usefulness of accounting systems through system-generated reports
  • Develop, maintain, and update budget, forecast and reporting models
  • Distribute financials to external lenders in adherence with agreements
  • Prepare consolidated balance sheet reconciliations
  • Report all findings to management with recommendations for improvement and implement strategies to induce changes
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Manage the preparation of financial statements and report for the audit

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant financial reporting experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, CPA highly preferred
  • Strong management reporting and technical accounting experience
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in accounting managerial role preferred
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience preferred
  • Financial Services or Banking experience is highly preferred
  • Public company experience a plus
