Our client, a growing financial service company, is seeking a Controller to join the growing team! This role is a fantastic opportunity for a talented accounting and finance professional to become involved in all aspects of the operations of the company. The individual will support the CFO in running the accounting and operations department. The role will report to the CFO and work closely with the President (Founder) and other department heads.

Top Responsibilities - Controller:
  • Prepare and document journal entries for the monthly general ledger close
  • Review and reconcile the general ledger
  • Supervise accounts payable
  • Supervise sales taxes, titles and warranty projects
  • Work closely with vehicle inventories
  • Close the monthly ledger and prepare the month-end financials and analysis
  • Ensure cash handling processes are secure
  • Participate in team optimization projects with the goal to drive improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. May work independently on smaller optimization projects.
  • Interface with internal and external customers and assist them with accounting and finance inquiries.
  • Assist with bank and external audit requests. Interact with internal and external auditors; provide clarification on those items requiring additional support
  • Special projects as directed by CFO and President.

Experience Preferred- Controller:
  • 3-7 years of experience in finance, banking, vehicle dealership or public accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with Excel modeling
  • Superior quantitative analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self starter
