Our client is seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to establish and maintain a consistent accounting presence at their downtown Manhattan office. Responsibilities:
  • Support the Controller in overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions and processes.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial reports, statements, and forecasts for management and stakeholders.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, inventory management, and related financial data.
  • Play a pivotal role in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Help develop and implement accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the accounting team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaborations to support decision-making based on financial insights.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing accounting, with a strong focus on inventory management and costing.
  • Previous experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
