Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our dynamic team. The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the strategic financial planning and growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Oversight:
    • Oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
    • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Provide regular financial reports and analysis to senior management.
  • Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost control and optimization.
  • Audit and Compliance:
    • Coordinate annual audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submission.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships to support operational needs.
    • Implement strategies for optimizing cash resources.
  • Financial Strategy:
    • Collaborate with senior management to develop financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and long-term goals.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Maintain adequate insurance coverage and ensure compliance with risk management policies.

  • Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior financial management role, preferably within a nonprofit organization.
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations.
    • Proficiency in financial software, preferably Sage Intacct, Salesforce, and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

    Compensation

    Annual salary range for this position is $150-170K, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
