Job Description
The responsibilities of Assistant Manager - Finance will be:
- Financial Reporting: Preparing and reviewing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Month-end and Year-end Close: Leading or participating in the month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies.
- General Ledger Management: Managing the general ledger, maintaining chart of accounts, and overseeing journal entries.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborating on budgeting and forecasting activities, analyzing financial data, and providing insights for informed decision-making.
- Variance Analysis: Conducting variance analysis to explain discrepancies between actual and budgeted/forecasted figures, and recommending corrective actions.
- Financial Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, while assisting with audits and compliance efforts.
- Process Improvements: Identifying opportunities to streamline R2R processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.
- Intercompany Accounting: Managing intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and settlements across different entities.
- Financial Systems: Utilizing financial systems and tools to optimize data management, reporting, and analysis.
- Team Leadership: Supervising junior staff, providing training and mentorship, and assisting in their professional development.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments like Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Tax to ensure a cohesive financial operation.
- Financial Analysis: Conducting ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic decision-making and address specific business challenges.
The Successful Applicant
A successful candidate for the Assistant Manager - Finance:
- Qualified CA with 3 years of minimum experience (CA is mandatory)
- Having solid accounting knowledge: A strong foundation in accounting principles and practices is essential. Candidates should have a deep understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and reconciliation.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using accounting software and financial systems is crucial. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics is often preferred.
- Financial Analysis Skills: The ability to analyze financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide insights for decision-making is important.
