Under the supervision of our Director of COE Working Capital & Balance Sheet, the Fixed Asset Accountant will handle all aspects of maintaining and recording fixed assets and capital leases for our global business. In addition, the Senior Fixed Asset Accountant will participate in other accounting tasks, including month-end activities, preparation of journal entries and reports, and analysis of financial data.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for all members in the Hayward department for rules and guidelines from an accounting point of value. Assist teams in developing their business plan strategy for company investments.
- Analyze general ledger CIP accounts for each Capital Appropriations Request (CAR) project, which constitutes the basis and accounting support for capitalized fixed assets, and prepare necessary journal entries in the general ledger.
- Enter and maintain new asset data, assign asset classes, and perform transfers and disposals within the fixed asset system. Analyze asset CAR and CAPEX purchase orders for proper asset classification and complete monthly reconciliations.
- Develop KPIs for the company for Hayward Departments to align with the Senior Leadership’s ROGIC target.
- Establish and maintain close working relationships with internal departments (i.e., operational teams, plant controllers, engineering, FP&A, and tax) to compile information on CAPEX spend projections, global project opportunities, and 3-year CAPEX plans and present this information to the leadership team quarterly.
- Manage fixed asset cash flow to provide top-line information to the treasury VP to ensure liquidity for operations and capital budgeting
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process for our divisions and consolidate that information into one comprehensive package for executive management review
- Perform post-mortem analysis of capital projects to review cost overruns, completion to timeline, realization of justifications used, etc., and report back to teams to find additional areas of improvement.
- Prepare all Hayward fixed asset-related reports, including monthly capital additions, quarterly summaries, fixed asset roll forwards for all Hayward entities, and the CAR status report summary for CIP projects.
- Prepare annual personal property tax filings for applicable state jurisdictions.
- Internal & External Audit in preparing audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assisting the auditors in their inquiries.
- Provide analysis of investment to senior leadership (C-Suite).
- Develop and manage the annual budgeting process for our divisions and consolidate that information into one comprehensive package for executive management review.
- Continuously review and enhance financial processes and controls to improve efficiency. Supervise and mentor the finance and accounting teams.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, master’s degree preferred. 4-7 years’ experience with Fixed Assets
- Strong experience (7+ years) in fixed assets or general accounting roles, with evidence of expanding responsibilities.
- Energetic, detail-oriented self-starter with a “hands on” approach and strong focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively across departments.
