Job Summary

The Vice President of Finance oversees strategic planning, financial analysis, budgeting development, and implementation and oversight of the Company’s Finance Department. The VP of Finance is a member of Gat Creek executive leadership team and provides regular support through financial reporting and analysis.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee accounting functions and finance staff.
  • Coordinate staffing decisions and conduct staff performance evaluations.


  • Maintain integrity of and accountability for all company revenues & expenses, ensuring adherence to all organizational policies, procedures, and government regulations.
  • Prepare timely and accurate operational analyses, summaries, and financial reports and forecasts to ensure company profitability. Regularly review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance. Develop and maintain reporting structures and cash flow projections. Develop and analyze financial data and lead the Company’s annual operating budget process. Regularly analyze and report on company performance and inventory controls. Review and implement continuous improvement to accounting systems and procedures. Work directly with company leadership, including production leads, to obtain data and information for the preparation of appropriate weekly/monthly reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of developments and trends in finance including technological advances and facilitate new systems implementation and existing systems modifications to for efficiency gains.
  • Oversee capital assets projects ensuring that organizational goals are being met.
  • Monitor accounting procedure compliance through observation, supervision, and collaboration with auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including but not limited to tax laws, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards (CAS).
  • Develop and review procedures with the Comptroller to ensure collections, accounts receivables, and accounts payables are complete and current.
  • Ensure payroll integrity through collaboration with Human Resources and Operations Departments.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of financial and legal best practices and requirements with a proven ability to provide sound and ethical financial counsel to executive leadership.
  • Thorough knowledge of costing in a multiple level bill of material environment with a proven ability to properly cost machine / labor absorption, yield loss and PPV.
  • Thorough understanding of and personal involvement with finance and accounting systems and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and planning. Experience in fiscal management principles and processes, including resource management and needs assessment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or related software and accounting software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of organizations applicable financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations.

Education and Experience:

  • At least five years financial management experience in manufacturing or related industry preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant status beneficial.
