THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION BASED IN BANGALORE, INDIA
THE ROLE
You will be responsible for implementing MPOWER's cost control measures across departments, optimizing spending, and ensuring adherence to budgetary policy. The ideal candidate will be providing Financial Planning and Controlling expertise by compiling and analyzing metrics, identifying and understanding trends in costs for our rapidly growing business, and partnering with our functional heads in planning and implementing our cost-control measures. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

A passion for financial inclusion and access to higher education is a must, as well as comfort working with a global team across multiple time zones and locations!
In addition, you should be comfortable working in a fast growth environment, meaning a small agile team, fast-evolving roles and responsibilities, variable workload, tight deadlines, a high degree of autonomy, and 80-20 everything.

THE ROLE
You will be responsible for implementing MPOWER's cost control measures across departments, optimizing spending, and ensuring adherence to budgetary policy. The ideal candidate will be providing Financial Planning and Controlling expertise by compiling and analyzing metrics, identifying and understanding trends in costs for our rapidly growing business, and partnering with our functional heads in planning and implementing our cost-control measures. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Working closely with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate advantageous contracts and pricing terms, minimizing procurement costs while maintaining quality and service levels
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Payroll, HR, Marketing, Analytics, Credit, Strategy) to oversee all expense, P&L line items and related balance sheet activities
- Developing company forecasts based on strategic and marketing plans, incorporating business assumptions, and providing comprehensive reporting of actuals against forecasts, including variance analysis and cost tracking
- Creating and managing sophisticated financial models to support decision-making processes for the finance and leadership team
THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or another quantitative field
- Professional qualification preferred (CA, CPA, CFA, CMA, CA Inter)
- 4+ years of experience within the Finance function of a fast-paced, tech-driven company or with relevant experience in management consulting, investment banking, or corporate finance
- Knowledge of financial and accounting best practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proven ability to execute and drive results with cross-functional teams
- Good experience with Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in Analytical and reporting tools like Salesforce CRM, Tableau (preferable, but not mandatory)
- Superior verbal and written communication, presentation and facilitation skills
