Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - Lease Accounting

Responsibilities:
  • Lease Accounting Compliance:
  • Stay up to date with the latest lease accounting standards (e.g., ASC 842, IFRS 16) and ensure the client's lease accounting practices are in compliance with these standards.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of lease agreements to determine their proper accounting treatment, including classification, recognition, and measurement of lease assets and liabilities.
  • Collaborate with the client's finance, operations, and project teams to review and document requirements.
  • System Integration and Implementation:
  • Work closely with IT and accounting systems teams to implement and integrate lease accounting software or modules within the organization's financial systems.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of lease accounting software to ensure accurate data processing and reporting.
  • Data Management and Analysis:
  • Oversee the collection and organization of lease data, including lease terms, payments, and options.
  • Analyze lease data and financial reports to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Assist in the design of external financial reports related to leases, ensuring accuracy and consistency in reporting.
  • Document requirements gathered with client and operations teams as per agreed upon templates.
  • Develop test cases and success criteria for various requirements gathered from the business teams.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with various departments, such as client's and Genpact's finance, operations, and projects, to obtain necessary information and provide guidance on lease accounting matters.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide training to stakeholders on lease accounting policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of lease accounting processes.
  • Recommend and implement best practices to streamline lease accounting procedures and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other relevant certifications (e.g., CMA, CFA) are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of lease accounting principles and standards (e.g., ASC 842, IFRS 16).
  • Previous experience in lease accounting, financial analysis, or business analysis is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
