The opportunity
Unity's Accounting team is looking to hire a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting that will be an integral part of our accounting team. This role will have an immediate impact on our month-end close process as well as strengthening our overall reconciliation process. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical with a strong attention to detail and able to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
As Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting you will lead an accounting team that is responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities in the areas of revenue recognition, sales commissions, and software capitalization. The Senior Manager will have a knack for identifying issues easily, putting forth solutions and escalating at the appropriate times and to the appropriate levels. The ideal candidate will be analytical in approach and have a demonstrated ability to think broadly and strategically about global initiatives and the impact to GAAP accounting.

What you'll be doing
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including the month end close process, in the areas of revenue, sales commissions, and software capitalization
- Collaborate with key stakeholders by responding to technical revenue accounting inquiries
- Review accounting memos and contract reviews prepared by the local revenue accounting team for non-standard revenue contracts
- Assist in the preparation of materials to support finance, accounting and business partners in regular and ad hoc reviews
- Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls as needed
- Support the SEC reporting team in the review of financial statements and footnote schedules prepared by the revenue accounting team to support our 10Q/10K filings
- Develop, recommend, and/or drive innovative process improvements that leverage technology and maximize overall efficiency while maintaining or strengthening internal controls
- Actively coaching and develop direct reports in the area of revenue accounting
- Liaise with the auditors as needed
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- 10+ years of experience; Big 4 and similar experience with public companies preferred
- Comprehensive and current understanding of U.S. GAAP, with a strong knowledge of ASC 606
- Experience managing teams and managers
- Chartered Accountant
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and convey information concisely

- Intermediate to advanced excel proficiency
