PATH is currently recruiting for a Finance Officer.

PATH began its work in India in the late 1990s, bringing governments, communities, private-sector companies, and experienced public health practitioners together to address some of the country's most crucial health problems. Today, PATH's India projects focus on TB/HIV, vaccines, nutrition, heath innovation, and more. PATH's India country program engages with various stakeholders and target groups for which creation of compelling content is essential.

Responsibilities:

Accounting:

The job involves ensuring accuracy of accounting records and reconciling them monthly basis for Global and local books of accounts. The role includes preparing quarterly financial statements and variance analysis for major expenditure and balance sheet items. The candidate will assist in accuracy in books of accounts, ensuring their compliance with international standards and local regulations. You will be responsible for suggesting improvement in finance processes for stronger internal controls, risk management, enhancing operational efficiency. The role also includes reviewing procurement documents, Payroll records, remittances and working closely with the various departments as applicable.

Statutory Compliance:

Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the timely deposit of all statutory dues such as TDS, PF, GST, PT, LWF etc. within defined timelines. You will also ensure timely filing of all statutory returns in accordance with various laws such as (Income tax Act, Companies Act, Provident fund Act, GST Act etc.). The role includes maintaining, and archiving all challans, returns, and financial records to ensure they are accurate and current. You will provide guidance to the finance and operations teams regarding statutory updates, assisting with various requirements. Your role will also involve supporting teams with queries related to statutory compliances, or assistance.

Audits:

The job involves providing extensive support in conducting various audits like Statutory, Internal audits, responding accurately to audit queries, and ensuring compliance with HQ requirements.

Month End:

The job involves overseeing the month-end/year-end closure by ensuring all month end activities are completed within set deadlines, settling advances, reconciling General Ledger accounts (GLs), and addressing any pending items as required. Additionally, the role includes preparing Monthly Information System (MIS) reports and discussing material items and update with management.

Budget Management:

The role involves preparing budgets for Shared Services and Overhead, regularly monitoring actual expenditures.

Other Areas:

Additionally, the candidate will liaise with banks, auditors, and consultants on tax and accounting matters, promptly resolve queries, and demonstrate flexibility to adapt to the company's changing needs. You may be required to update the agreement in Salesforce and discuss with Head office legal teams as and when required.

You will also demonstrate flexibility to perform other related tasks as per the company's changing needs as and when required.

Required skills and experience:
  • Qualified CA/CMA with minimum of 5+ years of experience in Finance and Accounting.
  • Knowledge of local laws like Companies Act, FCRA, Income-Tax, GST etc.
  • In-depth understanding of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, test, and sampling methods involved in conducting audits.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PowerBI/Tableau etc.
  • Well-organized and attention to details with good follow-through skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently and in a team.
  • Experience with the ERP such as BW, Salesforce will be added advantage.
